The 2023 Australian Institute of TechnicalChefs (AITC) “Best of the Best “National Awards

enjoyed media coverage that far exceeded expectations.

 

More than just a culinary competition, The Best of the Best is an accountable award process that acknowledges and awards exceptional trainees culinary competencies in combination with professional attitudinal attributes required for success in the industry.

The competition additionally identifies and awards mentors, teachers, and institutes to acknowledge their contribution in the participants development curve. 

THE COMPETITION OBJECTIVE:

The objective of the certificate category competition is to industrially recognize and encourage Students who have already achieved an exceptional degree of hard skills and additionally demonstrate soft skill that indicates they may likely develop to be future leaders.

The competition additionally acknowledges the mentors contribution in the trainees learning curve.

CRITICAL DATES:

  • Applications opens September 1St 2024 and Closes October 31st, 2024.
  • December recipients announced.

 

ENTRY:

Open to candidates who fulfill the following conditions:

  • Reside in Australia.
  • Currently or just completed tertiary student, trainee, apprentice, In-house assessed trainee/RPL.
  • Must be nominated by their teachers / instructors / supervisors / chef or managers (with the explicit agreement of the nominee). Certificate candidates are not permitted to personally apply.
  • Near completed 2024certificate level candidates are eligible for nomination; given little doubt that the nominee will successfully complete their level of studies this year.
  • Must successfully complete their study level prior to January 2024.

CHOROLOGICAL ORDER:

 

  • Application received by email.
  • Candidates are shortlisted to select finalists in each category assessment
  • Successful candidates given access to online assessment
  • Top three candidates  informed of result.
  • Certificates of participation to mentors and winners sent by email to all candidates (PDF).
  • Certificates and Trophies sent to successful three top nominators, and candidates.

CONDITIONS OF ENTERING:

  • By submitting a nominee, the nominator and the candidate must have read the competition profile and agreed to be bound by the conditions.
  • AITC reserves the right to adjust times, and dates of the awards.
  • The decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
